WTFs Throughout History

I have yet to figure out what this girl is wearing. I'm guessing it's some sort of holiday garb or costume for a play.


I also have yet to figure out what's written here. I'm bad at reading cursive as it is, but faded cursive is the worse. I think it says "Mattie, March 17, 1894" And the rest is a mystery to me. How bad is it that a 16 year old has trouble reading cursive?

  1. First word could be "Matter", "Mother", "Matheu", "Walter", or something else, but in the context of the photo my money is on "Mother"...
